The Experiment
The 10 Territories of The Experiment ๐ฟ
Over the next 10 weeks we will move through 10 areas of life - one at a time, with full attention and intention.
Think of each as a territory we enter together. We are here to explore, to see it clearly, feel it fully, and experiment with what shifts when we bring conscious awareness to it.
Week 1 โ Body
Week 2 โ Mind
Week 3 โ Spirit
Week 4 โ Time
Week 5 โ Stillness
Week 6 โ Creativity
Week 7 โ Relationship
Week 8 โ Nature
Week 9 โ Vision
Week 10 โ Integration
Each week builds on the last. By week 10 you will have touched every layer of your life - intentionally, experimentally, with awareness you didn't have before.
Week 3 - Spirit ๐๏ธ
Welcome to your third open buffet.
This week our territory is the Spirit - the part of you that existed before this lifetime and will continue after it. We are blessed with the opportunity to touch this deeper dimension of ourselves and we will dedicate this week to remembering and including this dimension of our being into our daily life.
Below is your menu. Choose one from each category, something that genuinely calls to you, let your Spirit guide you.
Trust your first instinct.
โ ADD: choose one spirit practice to bring in this week
A daily moment of prayer or direct address - speaking to whatever you understand as the divine, the universe, your higher self, your guides. No formal structure needed, your authentic words of connection.
5-10 minutes of sacred text or wisdom reading daily - scripture, poetry, teachings from any tradition that calls to you. Approach it as a small ritual, not information gathering. In our times of the seminary we dedicated so much time to read the scriptures not in a dogmatic way, but out of curiosity.
A daily gratitude practice directed beyond yourself - instead of listing what you're grateful for, address the gratitude to something - to God, to life, to your ancestors, to the universe.
Time in nature with the specific intention of communion - not exercise, not a walk to clear your head. Time outdoors with the explicit intention of feeling connected to something larger. We may call it โEarth listeningโ.
A small daily ritual or altar practice - lighting a candle, an incense, ringing the bell around your space, arranging something meaningful. How can we connect to the sacred in our ordinary day?
Your own choice of practice, or a mantra of your choosing, repeated daily
โ REMOVE: choose one thing to release from the spirit this week
Cynicism toward your own spiritual experiences - this week, when you have a moment that feels meaningful or synchronistic, resist the urge to explain it away or dismiss. Let it simply be what it was.
Spiritual comparison - comparing your practice, your progress, your experiences to anyone else's. This week, your path is only yours to walk.
Consuming spiritual content without practicing it - if you find yourself endlessly reading, watching, or listening to spiritual material without ever sitting in stillness yourself, this week change the pattern, reverse the ratio.
Numbing activities before bed - scrolling, drinking, distraction that keeps you from a few minutes of quiet reflection before sleep. Replace it with stillness.
The belief that you need to have it all figured out - this week, let not-knowing be acceptable. Let the opportunity for your spiritual guidance to show up.
Your choice of a habit that disconnects you from spirit, from deep listening to what is.
๐ DEEPEN: choose one to commit to for the full week
Your existing spiritual or devotional practice - if you already have one, this week you deepen it. More time, more presence, or simply more sincerity within what you already do.
Tracking moments of synchronicity or meaning - keep a log of moments this week that felt like more than coincidence. By day 7 you may notice how often spirit is already speaking to you.
A spirit-based creative project - writing a letter to your future self, your soul, or your guides. Creating art as an offering rather than a product. Singing or chanting as devotion rather than performance.
Learning about a spiritual tradition outside your own - spend 20โ30 minutes this week exploring a practice, philosophy, or lineage you're curious about but haven't studied. I will share a text I am chanting every day for the past 4 years from which we use the mantras in kundalini yoga. It is called Japji - โsong of the soulโ . This is the English translation (original language is Gurmukhi). It is very deep and requires presence to be able to take it in, but if you half 30 minutes and ready for some profound wisdom have a look
A ritual of spiritual self-care you have been postponing - the ceremony you've wanted to hold, the pilgrimage you've wanted to take even locally, the teacher you've wanted to study with. Take one real step this week.
Practice of your choice. I have one suggestion to watch/listen to this podcast
A few notes before you choose ๐ฟ
Read the menu, read the moon cycle guide and listen to yourself. There is no right answer and no comparison. What one person removes another may need to add.
Once you have chosen please write your three choices in your notebook with today's date. If you can, make it your phone screen saver (using Canva if you fancy fancy :) or by just typing it in notes and adding to the screen saver) so you have a constant reminder. Then share them here in the group so we can hold each other's intentions.
I will share individual guidance from your natal charts after you place your choices, in the private messages. General recommendations aligned with the lunar cycle are on the separate page.
